Prime Minister Shinzo Abe resisted calls today to resign after a devastating defeat in Sunday’s election for the upper house of Parliament, insisting that Japanese voters still supported his policies.
With over 70% of the American public feeling the same way about Bush, maybe he ought to go with him ;-) Let's clean house.

A Kid's Eye View of San Francisco's Chinatown
I'm always amazed at the way kids see things, too bad us non-kids can't learn more from them. Take a look at these photos (just click on a photo or the video). They're great young photographers. Hope someday I grow up to be just like them ;-)

Even a cursory look at the color woodblock prints in "Yoshitoshi's Strange Tales" at the Asian Art Museum accounts for the fascination that such artworks held for the European Impressionist painters.
Taiso Yoshitoshi (1839-1892) could design a page, or a sequence of them, with such pictorial flair and dramatic invention as to captivate even viewers with no knowledge of the stories or conventions involved.
